A few hours drive is Mount Sinai and there are regular excursions taking tourists to the highest place in the Sinai to view the sun rise over the desert. The scenery in and around the mountains is awesome and any one deciding on the early start won't be disappointed. Another a favourite destination in the Sinai is the spectacular Colour Canyon. Travelling by off road vehicles, people can look at the renowned shades and rock formations of the Colour Canyon.

Cairo is always a popular day trip from Sharm and frequent tours by plane and bus take people off to the Egyptian capital. The day gets going with a visit to the Cairo Museum which is rife with ancient treasures which includes the well known Mask of Tutankhamen. From the museum, the next stop is lunch of a Nile river boat prior to venturing over to Giza and the Pyramids. The Sphinx is a brief bus ride away and when you finish spending time there, there is still time to take in a perfume shop and a papyrus shop prior to travelling back to Sharm.

Not wishing to overlook an Egyptian experience, a different well loved Sharm tour is an early evening camel ride out in the desert accompanied by a Bedouin supper. Dining in the quiet of the desert beneath a starlit sky is a superb way to wind down following a day lying on the beachfront.
