The Shortridge House was constructed in 1871 by James Edward Shortridge for his new bride, Cynthia Davis Burgoyne Higinbotham. This Greek Revival treasure was fully restored in 1999 by the current owners, Jim Sherow and Bonnie Lynn-Sherow. Guests at the Shortridge House enjoy the warm and friendly atmosphere of our antique furnished rooms, luxurious linens and delicious breakfasts. The Shortridge House is close to Kansas State University, is within walking distance of the downtown and only ten minutes from Konza Prairie's spectacular Flint hills hiking trails. We have two guest rooms, featuring in-room cable tv, free wireless internet service, in-room refridgerator and a spacious bathroom complete with jacuzzi and separate shower. Our full breakfasts include juice, coffee, baked goods and a main course. Breakfasts are served in the main floor dining room or can be served on either the balcony or outdoor patio weather permitting.
