Latest Pilot jobs Available

by Steve Brennan

There has been some negative news lately in the USA that might probably affect the availability of pilot positions, such as the declaration of bankruptcy by American Airlines. One however has to have a look at this from many angles insofar as to the reason for this. If you remember back in July, American Airlines placed what was then the biggest order for aircraft in the history of aviation. Members from AA stated they will buy at least 460 new aircraft worth up to $40 bill dollars.

Many think that the company is utilising the protection of bankruptcy as a method of restructuring which has been done by the majority of the surviving major US carriers already. So considering the plane orders and approaching pilot retirements I believe it is reasonable to say that pilot jobs may not be adversely affected by the insolvency.

If you're prepared to go worldwide for the latest pilot jobs then think about either the Asia Pacific area or the Middle East. Presently job vacancies in these area's are significant. Airlines and pilot hiring contract corporations acting for some airlines in these area's are forcibly advertising so as to hire pilots. Pilot job vacancies for nearly all the latest aircraft types can be discovered at online pilot job sites.

Even at this time many in the industry have stated there is a pilot shortage that affects the growth of many airlines. China being a classic example of this, with it's surprisingly high growth and requirement for air travel. Lately, the chairman of Spring Airlines in China stated that "The Pilot shortage is the biggest restriction to our development". It is currently tricky for airlines to open new routes or even add additional flights to existing ones.

While living abroad as a contract pilot won't be everyone's cup of tea it's an option worth considering. Airlines are steadily increasing pilot wages and conditions in order to attract pilots to their airline.
