Shortridge House
Enjoy Southern comfort in this 1871 Greek Revival in the heart of The Little Apple.
The Shortridge House was constructed in 1871 by James Edward Shortridge
for his new bride, Cynthia Davis Burgoyne Higinbotham. This Greek
Revival treasure was fully restored in 1999 by the current owners, Jim
Sherow and Bonnie Lynn-Sherow. Guests at the Shortridge House enjoy the
warm and friendly atmosphere of our antique furnished rooms, luxurious
linens and delicious breakfasts. The Shortridge House is close to
Kansas State University, is within walking distance of the downtown and
only ten minutes from Konza Prairie's spectacular Flint hills hiking
trails. We have two guest rooms, featuring in-room cable tv, free
wireless internet service, in-room refridgerator and a spacious bathroom
complete with jacuzzi and separate shower. Our full breakfasts include
juice, coffee, baked goods and a main course. Breakfasts are served in
the main floor dining room or can be served on either the balcony or
outdoor patio weather permitting. Reservations are taken year round and
must be made in advance of your stay. Ask about our special occasion
touches when you call to make your stay at the Shortridge House even
more memorable.
We accept Visa, Mastercard and cheques.
